Sending centre

The starting point for every send: choose the audience, check the template, send a test, approve.

What is the sending centre and how does it differ from campaigns?

Path Sending centre

The sending centre is the starting point: this is where you create what is to be sent. The campaign list is for management: there you see what is running, and that is where sending is approved.

This is the point where many people take a wrong turn once: the button for creating a new campaign is not on the campaign list, but here.

What can I create here?

A contact campaign: you choose the audience by category, write in up to three stages and control the volume per day.

At the bottom of the page is “Recently active”: whatever is currently running, one click away from the campaign.

Earlier versions had a second route next to it for job vacancies. Today that belongs to a separate area that is not part of the standard scope — if you do not see it, it has not been activated for your installation.

Why does the wizard ask one thing after another instead of everything on one page?

Because a panel full of settings produces the mistakes that cost the most. Three questions in turn — stage, audience, content — can each be checked on their own, and the summary at the end shows in one sentence who gets what.

The earlier layout allowed you to change audience and text at the same time and lose track in the process. The most common result: a campaign sent to the wrong group.

Three steps in turn. The sentence under the heading says it explicitly: “Nothing is sent yet”.

What does the last step before creating show me?

A sentence summing up who gets what, and the first recipients by name.

Read this list. It is the last point at which a mistake in the category has no consequences: if the list is wrong, the category is wrong.

I pressed “Create campaign” — is the email going out now?

No. The button only creates the campaign. What you have at the end is a draft.

Sending is approved in the campaign itself, under “Prepare sending” — after the preview and a test mail, with a confirmation prompt that states the number of recipients.

This separation is deliberate: creating should be possible without your heart racing.

I have got tangled up in the filters. How do I get back?

With “× Reset filters”. That puts the selection back to the start.

If the number of recipients is unexpectedly low, resetting the filter is the fastest way to find out whether the selection is the cause or the exclusion rules.

How can I quickly see what is currently running?

The “Recently active” list at the bottom of the sending centre shows it; one click takes you into the campaign.

For the full overview — including drafts and completed campaigns — the campaign list is the right place.

Can I go back in the wizard?

Yes, with “← Back”. As long as you have not pressed “Create campaign”, nothing is created — so you can go back and forth as much as you like without causing any harm.

Make use of it: a second look at the chosen category is the cheapest mistake you can avoid.

Where do the categories in the wizard come from?

From the tags on your contacts. The wizard does not invent anything — what is offered there exists in the address book.

If a category you expect is missing, it has not been set on any contact. The way to fix that is through the contact list, not through the wizard.

The number of recipients is zero. What is missing?

One of the exclusion rules applies to everyone selected. Most often:

  • Everyone has already been written to in this stage — in that case, the follow-up is what you want, not the first mail.
  • The category is empty or only matches contacts without an email address.
  • Everyone is in a campaign that is already running.

Aurora Hive Sales says it in plain words: There is nobody in this selection who has not been written to yet.

What happens if I choose several categories?

Everyone who is in at least one of them is written to — the selection works as a union, not as an intersection.

So if you choose “Customer” and “Trade fair 2026”, you reach all customers and all trade fair contacts, not just the customers from the trade fair. This is the most common wrong assumption in this step; the number of recipients below gives it away immediately.

There is no template to choose from in the wizard.

Then there is none for the selected stage. The template list in the wizard is filtered by stage — deliberately, so that nobody accidentally sends a follow-up text as the first mail.

Under Templates, first select the stage at the top and then create the template. The wizard deliberately no longer offers free text: no free text field to mistype in.

What happens after the campaign has been created?

It sits as a draft in the campaign list. The next step is always the same:

  1. Open the campaign.
  2. “Prepare sending”: read the email.
  3. Test mail to your own address.
  4. The button showing the number of recipients.

Only there does it get serious. This separation is why you can create campaigns without your heart racing.

Is your question not listed?

Try the search — it covers all chapters at once. And if something really is missing here, let us know: in the program at the bottom right via “Report a problem”.
