Searching and working faster

The global search and the keyboard shortcuts. The small things that make the difference between sluggish and smooth.

Click a question to read the answer.

What does the search in the header find?

Not just contacts: it also searches companies, opportunities and the areas themselves. Opportunities appear with a briefcase icon and their status as a badge. If you type “Templates”, you land on the templates without hunting through the menu.

This is the fastest way through the program when you know where you want to go — faster than any menu.

Do I have to type the whole word?

No. Part of a word is enough, and the search covers all your records, not just the rows on screen — this applies to the contact list as well as to opportunities.

So if you find nothing, it is not down to the page number, nor to the list showing only the first entries.

How do I see all keyboard shortcuts?

With “?” — anywhere in the program. The same overview is in the settings under Keyboard, where you can also reassign the shortcuts.

What is listed there actually works: the list is generated from the shortcuts that are really assigned, not maintained by hand. So it cannot go out of date.

Which habits save the most time in everyday work?

Four, which together achieve more than any setting:

  • Task: type it in at the top, press Enter. Done.
  • Note on the company: Ctrl+Enter saves.
  • Appointment: in the week view, click straight into the hour instead of typing the time.
  • Tidy up the menu: in the settings, hide whatever you never need.

The last point looks the least impressive and has the biggest effect: a menu with six items you use every day is faster than one with twenty.

Does Aurora Hive Sales remember where I was in a list?

Yes. If you open an entry from a list and go back, you land at the same place — not back at the top.

If it does happen, the cause is almost always an old version in the browser cache. A hard reload with Ctrl+Shift+R fixes it.

Can I have Aurora Hive Sales open in several tabs at once?

Yes, and for comparisons it is the most practical way — for example a campaign in one tab and the contact list in the other.

Two things you should know: changes appear in the other tab only after reloading, and if you sign out in one tab, you are signed out in all of them.

When do I use the browser’s search?

When you are looking for something on the open page — with Ctrl+F. That is faster than any filter as soon as the row you want should already be visible.

You use the program’s search when you are looking for something in your records. The difference matters: Ctrl+F only finds what is currently loaded — the program search covers all your records.

Does the program remember my filters?

Within a session, yes — which is handy and occasionally confusing: a list that looks unexpectedly empty often still has a filter from earlier.

That is why the lists have a Reset. Make a habit of using it before you start doubting an empty list.

Can I copy data from a list?

Selecting and copying works as on any website. For more than a handful of rows, the CSV export is the better way — it takes the filters you have set with it.

Bear in mind that an export carries personal data out of the protected system.

Can I use the browser’s back button?

Yes. Aurora Hive Sales remembers your position in the list you came from.

One exception worth knowing: in multi-step forms — the campaign wizard, for example — use the buttons in the program instead. The browser’s back button may leave the entire process there.

Can I bookmark particular views?

Yes — every page has its own address, and a bookmark to it works like anywhere else.

This is useful for the two or three views you need every day: the campaign list, the inbox, your own task list. On a phone, you can even put the address on the home screen as an icon via the share menu.

Is your question not listed?

Try the search — it covers all chapters at once. And if something really is missing here, let us know: in the program at the bottom right via “Report a problem”.
