Editing
Change texts, swap images, switch languages. And what the colours of the outlines mean.

How do I change a text?
Click the spot you want to change — it gets an outline — and type.
When you click, the original text also appears, so you can see what you are departing from. This is especially important when translating.
What do the coloured outlines mean?
They show the status of each field — and the colour legend is always visible, not hidden away in a menu.
What they indicate is what still needs doing: which spots are unchanged, which have been edited and which are still missing. Especially when translating, this replaces the list you would otherwise have to keep on the side — you see on the page itself what is still open.
What is the ✨ button for?
It fetches a suggestion for the spot you clicked — a translation when translating, otherwise help with the wording.
The button is permanently shown on the fields that still need work, not only after clicking. And as everywhere: a suggestion is a suggestion. You read it, change it, save it — or discard it.
Can I change images too?
Yes. Clicking an image opens the media picker — you choose an existing image or upload a new one.
Remember two things that are easily overlooked when swapping in a hurry: the alt text for the new image and the image rights. An uploaded photo is then publicly visible on the page.
How do I edit another language version?
Using the language switcher in the bar. You then edit the same page in the chosen language; the coloured outlines show what is still missing there.
There is also a route via the address bar — with the additions for editing mode and language, you can open a specific language version directly. This is practical when someone only translates and should not have to click through every time.
What is translator mode?
A restricted kind of access: text only, structure protected. Anyone working with it can change texts but cannot rebuild the page.
This is the right access for someone who maintains a version in another language — they cannot break anything, and you do not have to clean up after them.
The scope of an account is defined in Aurora Hive Sites.
When does my change become visible?
In Aurora Hive Live you work on the published page — whatever you save there is visible to visitors.
This is the most important difference from the live editor in Aurora Hive Sites, where saved does not yet mean published. Aurora Hive Live has no such intermediate stage.
So check before you save — not afterwards.
Can I undo a change?
When you click a spot, you see the original text — so you can write a wrong change back by hand, as long as you know what was there.
For anything bigger, Aurora Hive Sites is responsible: that is where the page’s version history is kept. If you have made a mistake and no longer remember the original text, that is the way to go — not trying again and again on the page.
Some spots cannot be clicked.
That is intentional. What can be changed are the fields of the blocks — headings, texts, images. Layout, navigation and theme cannot be changed; Aurora Hive Sites is responsible for those.
In translator mode, the scope is restricted further: text only, structure protected.
So if a spot does not respond, it is usually not a fault but the limit of the tool.
Can I change several spots one after the other?
Yes — click, change, save, on to the next. There is no batch process; each change takes effect on its own.
This has a consequence you should know about: with a series of related changes, the first ones are already public while you are working on the last ones. If that is a problem, Aurora Hive Sites with draft and publish is the right way.
Can I format text as bold or as a bulleted list?
What a field allows depends on the block: a heading is a heading, a text field can do more.
Hold back. The design deliberately lives not in the content but in the settings — which is why a page built with Aurora Hive Sites holds together even when many people write on it. Formatting within the text works against that.
Saving fails.
Three causes, in this order:
- Your sign-in has expired. Reload the page and sign in again — the most common case during longer work.
- No connection. Check whether other pages can be reached.
- The page has been republished in the meantime. Then there is a newer version underneath; reload and repeat the change.
In such cases, copy your text out first — otherwise you will type it twice.
How do I finish editing?
Sign out in the bar, or simply leave the page — the sign-in applies to the session.
On someone else’s or a shared computer, sign out explicitly. A closed tab is not a finished session, and whoever opens the same page afterwards may be able to carry on editing.
